1. La Via inferiore: Purificazione

Xià Dào: Jìng
2. La Via mediana: Chiarezza

Zhōng Dào: Qīng
3. La Via superiore: Trasformazione

Shàng Dào:- Huà

1. La Via inferiore. PURIFICAZIONE
Xià Dào – Jìng

1. Vivere secondo alcuni precetti etici (non rubare, non uccidere scc.);
2. Sviluppare alcune virtù, come la compassione e la benevolenza, rivolte non solo verso chi amiamo ma verso tutti gli esseri viventi;
3. Non fare del male a nessuno;
4. Studiare i testi fondamentali come il Dao De Jing e il Zhuang Zi;

2. La Via mediana. CHIAREZZA

Zhōng Dào - Qīng

Lentamente tutto diventa chiaro.

3. La Via superiore. TRASFORMAZIONE

Shàng Dào - Huà

A quale livello vi trovate?

The 3 Taoist Ways
Sān Dào 三 道

One of the questions that often my students ask to me is how to know at which level of practice they are located.
A very complex question which is not always easy to answer.

In general, however, we can divide the Taoist spiritual journey in three stages or "Ways" of perfection:

1. The lower Way: Purification
Xià Dao Jing

2. The middle way: Clarity
Zhōng Dào: Qing

3. The Way of the Higher: Transformation
Shàng Dào: - Hua

1 . The Lower Way - Purifying

Xià Dào - Jìng

This level is called the purification because the Taoist practitioner seeks to purify his mind and his heart from the poisons of material interests.
Anyone can follow this path because you choose to:
1 . Living according to some ethical precepts ( do not steal , do not kill etc. ) ;
2 . Develop some virtues such as compassion and benevolence, directed not only towards those we love but to all living beings;
3 . Do not hurt any being;
4 . Study the fundamental texts such as the Dao De Jing;
5 . Visit enlightened masters to have a spiritual guide;
6 . To attend the Taoist rites to receive blessing and get as close as possible to the Taoism;
7 . Practicing simple techniques for physical, mental and spiritual health.

2 . The Middle Way - Clarity

Zhōng Dào - Qīng

At this level the time to devote to the inner taoist practices becomes greater .
In particular, to reside in its own " sacred space " and to follow religious practice, become the backbone of the day of a taoist.
One relates to the various deities who, for " didactic and functional " reasons are antropomofizzate , despite the knowledge that they are nothing but different emanations of the qualities of the Tao. The Taoist seeks to embody the qualities of the various deities to facilitate the removal of all the bad qualities generated by his ego.
It becomes imperative to squint the doors of his mind to the material world to devote themselves to internal practices, such as meditation, and stay together with other practitioners to share the Way and strengthen our faith.
Slowly, everything becomes clear.
Ordinary cognitive models are abandoned, like old clothes, while progressively rise the self-perception , intuition, and then rest assured that there is more beyond the self .
At this stage of spiritual development arise the distinction between what is true and what is false , between what our magician mind let us to see and what it really is .
At this level of Taoist practice is essential to have a constant guide, a teacher who can correct and address. A practitioner does not have enough experience and knowledge to be able to judge its level of practice.

3 . The Higher Way - Transformation

Shàng Dào - Huà

This level is very difficult to achieve and maintain because the ultimate goal is the spiritual enlightenment achieved over a period of one life.
Here it is no longer of practical techniques , ethics or religion.
The Higher Way can only be followed by those who devote themselves entirely to the Tao.
If the "Way" will be loved with total dedication and loyalty, it will love us and fill us with endless gifts and powers.
This spiritual level can only be achieved by those who have merged two "possibilities": innate spiritual qualities and constant practice in every moment of their life.
The body and the mind will be transmuted , thanks to the practice of the inner alchemy.
While continuing to have a body and a mind, in fact, no longer will be the same body and the same mind. The Taoist will get a "Body of Light" through which the human and the divine planes will merge.
The Taoist who reaches this stage is called "Immortal", Xiānrén
Not because he does not die but because he exceeded the death.

At what level are you?
